Merry Christmas to All and to all a great nite!!

Well, Thanksgiving has passed and school has taken a break, while we sit a ponder what the year has given us! Wow, what a year of growth and knowledge. We have studied creation of Earth, started our MFW curriculum and enjoyed much of the crafts, lessons and songs along the way. The girls are growing so fast and we are trying to capture all the moments before they pass us by. That is one thing about parenting little ones, you are bound to miss something or forget when they did what after about age 2~!

Luna~ She is a joy as always and with so much energy to put to use, we have found some great uses. 1st of all, she is taking swimming lesson with Ms Amy and learning so much. We started with basically learning to swim freestyle and have grown to master skills of backstroke and started breaststroke. She loves the water and has a great start at loving swimming! She also took an art class with her teacher, Mr. Daniel! She loved it and has gained much knowledge of the world of art and all it has to offer. She is gaining understanding of short vowels & how to write 3-4 letter words. She loves reading books to her sister and asking mom to help with pronunciation of some. Her speech therapy is helping others to understand her and helps to keep her frustrations low. She is also working on 2-digit addition and concept of place value when it comes to placement in list.

Rayne~ She is continuing her dancing career with Ms Kelley and loves her "new friends" as she calls them. The independence has done her a lot of good and she continues to amaze us all. She follows school with sister and gets to practice her name, numbers & letter recognition and rhyming words. She enjoys crafts and wants to join in with her sister during art class. She considers her dance class, as her time to shine and named it "Rayne's Day". Rayne loves swimming as well, and will probably catch her sister if she continues at the current rate. We had started this when Luna started lessons. She gets mommy lessons while Mrs Amy works with sister. She loves it and says, " is it my lessons now?" She looks so forward to it and likes that she can do it on her own! She can swim half the pool with a few breaks for air, but still like to get rides from mom!

Mom~ Well, I have been busy following my goals and pursuing my list of things to do! We have finished a shelving unit thanks to friend Amy so that we can store all our school supplies with ease. This allows for a more Montessori style classroom, where supplies can be reached by child and chosen by them as well. We do half our day like typical classroom (storytime, songs & dance, alphabet letters/sounds, math and craft/music) and other half more explore on your own with free time, quiet time and outdoor/indoor play. I love teaching them and I have learned so much about who they are and who I am. I learn new things all the time and get to see the world thru their eyes. We recently went caroling for our annual trip to Nursing homes. It was such a blessing to see my girls interacting with residence and allowing them to bring cheer during the holiday. We went with a couple of my friends and their kids. Luna carried that on beyond the doors of Home as she sung for a cashier while waiting to check out the next day. That just brought such joy to my heart. She is so giving and to know that my children get the idea behind the holiday brings such joy! I am done teaching swimming except for Rayne and going to help a friend's child learn basics of tennis this winter. I have been involved with youth ministry and am loving the experience. I love connecting with the youth and seeing the hardships of life. I feel I can touch them and give them some insight to the challenges of being a teen. John & I are enjoying a date night at least once a month and trying to deal with schedule differences.

John~ He is seeing some changes with Magna taking over his company. No drastic changes, just uniform and ideas for its future. He kept the seniority and vacation time increases to 4 weeks this coming April. He is hoping to goto 1st shift within the year and looking forward to more normal hours. We love daddy time and girls suck most energy out of him on the mornings we see him. Latest news, is reduction in hours for month of Dec and May, due to supplier (Mercedes) shutting down for holidays and mandatory in month of May.

Here are some pics from holidays,... the girls enjoyed a small holiday with one big gift from us (Keyboard)and small ones from Santa. They loved going to candle-lit church service and making crafts. I enjoyed the music and fellowship. John & I exchanged loving gifts of clothing and time with girls. I love to watch their reaction and play along side them.

Merry Christmas to all and remember the True Meaning of the Season....Christ our Savior is Born!!!
