What an awesome thing to be reporting about. I love my girls and every time they learn something new I do a little dance in my head!! She is such a determined and positive girl who won't let anyone/thing stand in the way of her dreams. I am so proud of her accomplishments so far; swimming, reading, learning new talents (music & drama) and her genuine spirit and love for others. Her spirit is so pure and her love is everlasting towards everyone. She singles no one out and makes everyone feel so loved, whether she knows you or not. At the end of last month, she got the idea that she would like to read these starter books on her own so she could get a sticker in it. I explained that it might take a while and it was ok. That if she didn't learn by this summer we would focus more on it. She decided to take on that challenge, how ever hard or long it would take. And, she proved me wrong....she spent a week studying it and after only 2 read-thrus with mom and who knows how many attempts on her own. She came up to me and said, " Can I read this to you and get my sticker mom?" My reaction was one of astonishment and pause, as I didn't want to see her fail and have any disappointment. Well, she got it out and read each and every word to me with only a few mistakes....wow! That is all I could say, but dad was there and he asked her words randomly to see if she had just memorized it. Do you know what, she knew them all! Excited came over both our faces and we knew what a great thing she had figured out. She is so intelligent and wise beyond her years.
