Welcome to another year and I am doing good! The children are so busy that I barely have time to think let along clean up after them. To help this problem we decided to start a chores schedule where we rotate who does what and when. The girls love it and so do I!! We rotate silverware, table cleaning& setting, washing windows, bathroom sink & towels, and of course everyone does their own clothes folding. Next we started to have girls make one meal a day and so far that is also making them feel more empowered. Once and a while I have to help them or break up a quarrel but overall it has help out everyone.
Luna just started Girls Scouts with her friends and seems to fit right in! This allows her to interact in a different setting and gives her sister time with daddy! She is learning so much between life skills, how to deal with different friends and respect. She just started to read larger books and seems to enjoy quiet time to read her favorite short story! Wow, they grow so fast?! She got a new bike for Christmas and we're trying to let her learn without training wheels, wish us luck! Also, she is beginning to become more aware of God's world as we study the bible starting with Creation and books of bible, 'of course. She loves her own bible and enjoys reading it to her sister, how cute!
Rayne is finally wanting to start school, so we began with some basics and study the different letters, one a week. She did Ants this week and we talked about their body structure, made some ants: fingerprint ants, ants on a log snack, and coloring them, looking at their homes on-line and talked about the roles of ants in a colony. Luna joined in and had some fun as well! She is missing dance this year and we will be saving up for another year of that next year. She asked me the other day, "Mom when can I go to dance? I want to learn how to be a princess." Such a precious child in God's eyes I am sure.
John is doing better after a long sickness and restless spell. We are trying to get him back into a pattern of sleep that works for his new schedule of 4 10hr days with some fridays. With long hours and 1/2 hr drive both ways it can wear him thin. I guess it doesn't help that his company likes to work 'em without much break time! He doesn't care for the Canadian company, but is a trooper to help support our family! He is getting into gaming on-line and joining clans that play one game as a team.....he likes this!
I am doing good. Working out, teaching at a co-op, enjoying time with my girls and new cover school!! I have tried to venture out every once and a while and so far I think I made it out of the house twice without the girls. I started to be in charge of our small group at church, called the Soloist. I love the women in the group and we have a blast!! Still waiting for some alone time with John, but with his hours and my commitments to girls activities I don't see him more than 2 hrs at a time. But we are looking forward to this July when we goto Canada on a train to spend 4 days together without the girls. We are planning our 10th Anniversary to Niagara Falls, CANADA and looking forward to it!
See everyone in June!!
