I woke up this morning to a 70 degree, slightly foggy day that showed me that no matter how early it is, there is always to time rethink life in America. I agree that ppl think it is ok to sit back, and waste water to water a lawn that will live without it for a few days! Meanwhile, at my house, we are sitting with blinds open during day to do school by sunlight, enjoying the outdoor air in the morning while hanging clothes on the line and trying to take a nature walk to entertain girls while reading a book.....crazy I know, but true.
I enjoy nature, the outdoors and the cool breeze in the early morning! Even today in the 21st century it is perfectly ok to do things of the pioneer days and bask in the glory that my kids are not like the "Jones", so to speak. We love looking at the 5-lined blue tailed skink for the 20th time or watching the same birds fly over head. We enjoy hanging clothes on the line and smelling the intoxicating smell of fall every time we put on another piece of clothing. We live for making meals from scratch and then tasting every morsel as if we spent all day cooking it, all while talking with our kids about their days. While we are homeschooling then, we still enjoy hanging out, learning and growing with our kids. We love seeing the world through their eyes, since they see all God's glory, his beauty and do not waste time with the technology the world has thrust upon us.
Take the time to see through your childs' eye and remember to stop and smell the fall! I know I have missed my time to self at times, but time with my girls is priceless!
