Holiday Tech Makeover Powered by Intel
I would love to start with saying that my life is made easier by technology, but the real answer is no. It is actually more difficult to get the tasks, chores and general life done with the distractions of modern life. I know that this is partially my own doing, but I also know that my kids will never know life without it. I would love to say that just as Dr. Sears predicted, my children can watch too much TV and are rotting their brains. But there are also moments when TV robot sitter is the only one available for me to get 10 min to myself. Yes, I signed on for 24 hr/day, loving job with many blessings and little benefits.....I also didn't realize that it would be 24/7 for a long time. I love being a homeschooling mom and teaching my girls what and how I believe is best, again I realize this requires more time and patience. I guess I didn't realize how much time I would loose. My husband and I joke about how things were before kids....going to a movie when we felt like it, going to dinner without looking over the budget, finding time to be adults together and being spontaneous. Well, those days are gone and we now sit with our 10 yr old couch and used TV waiting for these things which have no feelings to entertain our family, give us times to sit and reminiscence over life before the kids. He works so hard at work and never complains, he comes home late from 12 hr days and spends time with us and eats dinner. He loves technology and because of that I love it too. We do try to make the best of life with the convenience of modern days but with a budget it is harder.
I would love to have a new living room with a TV to help show my husband that his hardwork and dedication to a job and us is worth it. He deserves this new space to help him unwind, enjoy the girls and being as he is a technology geek, this is right up his alley!
