Mamas on the Compact

I have decided to commit my family to compacting the garbage that we are putting into landfills and garbage dumps. We are starting with not purchasing any new goods for the next 2 months....besides groceries and any local artisan's' crafts. I have found this to be a great time to start because of the holiday "me" society we live in. I hope to teach my young children that it is important not only to receive gifts but to give to others....this is a great way to see the impact we have on our environment and start with our own home. I would like to start a compost pile in our yard and also recycle more of our garbage at home...but for now I am starting small.
